Oakville & District Humane Society

Tequila
Rottweiler
Female
Spayed
1 year old

Tequila came to the shelter as a stray. She has a fairly long history of running away from home and will need her new family to help her learn better habits. A very playful girl who loves to spend some fun filled quality time with her human friends. She will run around happily as she greets you with multiple play bows. Tequila is likely to greet just about anyone with a full body tail wag? She is a very social girl. She does not have the biggest interest in toys, and would rather play with a human but will chase a toy. She really would like to learn the game of fetch. She currently will get excited but then move on, unless you keep her interested in the game.

While she is a tonne of fun to be around, she is also very likely to suffer from separation anxiety that her new owners must be prepared to work with. The ODHS dog trainer will discuss this with potential owners and will send Tequila home with a program for her and her new family to follow.

Training school is a must for Tequila. It is important for her to build a happy and healthy relationship with her new family. This will help her to settle in and to have several useful tools to help her get through any separation anxiety that she may be experiencing. This will also go a long way in helping Tequila learn that running away from home is not nearly as fun as staying at home with her family.

Tequila will require a 16+ family as she has never lived with children and has a history of being a runner and separation anxiety. She will need a dedicated family who will help her through these issues and develop a strong relationship with the true gem that she is.
