The Spoons
Spoons are a Canadian New Wave new romantic synth pop music group, formed in 1979 in Burlington. They recorded several Canadian chart hits between 1982 and 1989, and in 1983, they won Group of the Year at the U-Know awards. Their most popular songs include "Romantic Traffic", "Nova Heart", "Old Emotions" and "Tell No Lies".

Carole Pope
Carole Pope is a Canadian rock singer-songwriter, whose provocative blend of hard-edged New Wave rock with explicit homoerotic and BDSM-themed lyrics made her one of the first openly lesbian famous entertainers in the world. Carole was the singer for a Canadian new wave rock band in the 1970s and 1980s, Rough Trade, which had a well-known 1981 hit "High School Confidential". In 2005, after returning to Los Angeles, Pope released a full-length solo album, Transcend. Six years later, in 2011, she released her second full-length album, Landfall, featuring a duet with Rufus Wainwright.
