Vinyl 95.3 DJ Bios

John Novak

With a radio career that has spanned a few decades, I'm happy that it continues at one of the most vibrant and exciting stations around these days, The New Vinyl 953. My years behind the mic have included prior stints at stations in such diverse parts of our country as Halifax, Thunder Bay and Calgary. It's right here in the Goldern Horseshoe area of Southern Ontario though, that's truly 'home' and where the vast majority of my time in this great business has been spent. I'm proud to be the announcer with the record of being on the air for the longest time, in the history of legendary radio station CKOC, the oldest radio station in Ontario and second oldest in Canada. It was fun being on board during it's heyday in the 70s and 80s when it was one of the top three contemporary hit radio stations in all of Canada.

On a personal level, probably my greatest joy in life (besides being at this great radio station) is my family. I've always felt, that is the foundation of all that truly matters as we go through the years. I must add though, that my 'radio family' is an extention of that belief. Connecting with my listeners and co-workers on a daily basis is all part of the scenario.

What stuff do I like/dislike? I love getting out on the golf course on a beautiful, sunny day, charitable organizations that help people (especially kids) like The Children's Miracle Network that raises funds for great facilities like Sick Kids and McMaster Children's hospitals and I respect the work The United Way does. I also enjoy being there in person, watching our teams play a good game of football, baseball, hockey or basketball. I do not care for bad drivers, inconsiderate, rude or unkind people or politicians (at any level of government) who obscenely waste tax payers' hard-earned dollars.

Thanks for listening to Vinyl 953. Keep on rockin' and you can count on us to do the same!
